For couples planning a destination wedding in Hawaii, one of the most important questions they’ll ask is also one of the most challenging, where should we get married? The challenge doesn’t come from the lack of options, in fact quite the opposite! There are SO many amazing, breathtaking, and out of this world gorgeous venues to choose from throughout the Hawaiian islands that it can feel practically impossible to choose between them. This challenge is what we’re here to take a look at today, as we’ll be covering what to look for in a wedding venue as well as some of my favorite places to get married in Hawaii, specifically on the islands of Oahu, Maui, and Kauai!

What to Look for When Deciding Where to Get Married in Hawaii

The Style and Setting of the Venue

One of the first things you’ll want to discuss as a couple when deciding on your wedding venue in Hawaii is what you want your day to look and feel like. Your venue plays the biggest role into the vibe of your day, so it makes sense why this is one of the most important factors to think about initially. Do you want your wedding to take place at a modern, all inclusive resort on the beach? Are you planning an intimate wedding where something more cozy and lowkey would be a better fit? Do the mountains of the islands appeal more to you than the sandy beaches? There’s a wide array of options to choose from, so nailing down this vision is a must as you begin your search for your dream wedding venue!

The Amenities

Much like how each wedding venue has its own distinct look, feel, and style to it, they also have their own unique takes on the amenities they offer for your wedding day. These amenities are sometimes included when you book the venue, and other times are offered as add-ons for you to choose from. Sometimes the venue has a mix of both! These offerings can be a make or break factor when deciding which place is best to get married in Hawaii, so be sure to look through all the amenities offered before booking your venue!

The Location

One final thing I want to mention before we start digging into some of my favorite wedding venues throughout the Hawaiian islands is the location of your venue itself. This is important as the physical location of the venue on your island of choice greatly impacts the travel arrangements you and your guests will need to make. Some venues are incredibly easy to access but they don’t have anywhere to stay on site. Other venues like some resorts are a bit further of a drive to get to, but offer a place for you and your guests to stay at on location. This is why taking your venue’s location into consideration is a must when planning out your wedding day.

Waialua Valley Farms

First on our list of places to get married in Hawaii is the ever lovely Waialua Valley Farms! Found on the north shore of Oahu, Waialua Valley Farms is one of my favorite options for an intimate wedding venue on the island! This is partly due to the venue’s breathtaking mountain views, but also because of the amazing experience they provide for their couples. The venue offers an on site getting ready space, an oversized lanai to use for your reception dinner, and of course the Great Room which is the perfect space to dance the night away with your friends and family!
