As a wedding and engagement photographer on Oahu I get the chance to document a variety of couples throughout the gorgeous landscapes of the island. One of my absolute favorite spots for engagement sessions is one I’ve featured before on the blog, and that’s the ever beautiful Waimanalo Beach! This beach has it all. Incredible views, a chill atmosphere, and a STUNNING sunrise that Michelle and Chris got to experience for their session.

Their Engagement Session at Oahu’s Waimanalo Beach

Michelle, Chris, and I started their engagement session EARLY, taking some photos before the sun had even started to show itself. Documenting these two running along the shores of the beach in the cool morning sky was a surreal experience. As an engagement photographer on Oahu I absolutely love incorporating motion into my couples’ sessions. There’s something so authentic about documenting your love for one another as you’re dancing, running, and just being yourselves with one another. Michelle and Chris are the perfect example of this, and their willingness to let loose and be themselves in front of the camera made their session and their photos SO much fun! The sunrise we had for their photos was jaw dropping and the perfect final piece to this incredible engagement session.

Waimanalo Beach for Engagement Photos

As a wedding and engagement photographer based on Oahu I can safely say that Waimanalo Beach is one of my all time favorite locations for engagement photos. There are of course other parts of the island that are stunningly beautiful that I LOVE to have my sessions at, like Brit and Douglass’ session on the island’s North Shore. Even still though, there’s something so incredible about how all the different aspects of the island come together at Waimanalo Beach that make it so incredible. The soft sandy beach, the mountains of Oahu looming overhead, and the smaller islands out in the water all combine to create a magical setting. It’s this setting that’s drawn my couples Keely and Kamu, Victoria and Byron, and now Michelle and Chris to this breathtaking beach!
