With Hawaii being a hot spot for destination weddings, day before sessions for soon-to-be married couples have become extremely popular.  Ally + John planned their destination wedding at Loulu Palms in Hawaii, but before their wedding day, they decided they wanted to have an engagement session at their favorite Oahu beach, which Ally happened to grow up going to!  

Day Before and Trash The Dress Sessions

I love having the opportunity to connect with a couple before their wedding day, and having a session a few days before is always a great option.  Not only do these sessions produce beautiful photos, but they also help us to get to know each other before your wedding day and help you to get comfortable with interacting in front of the camera.  Having an engagement session prior to your wedding day just adds to the magic that your wedding weekend brings which is exactly the case for Ally + John’s Oahu Beach session.

Another option for couples is a trash the dress session that would happen after a wedding day.  During a trash the dress session we might go off on an adventure, on a hike or exploring a beach while wearing your wedding gear from the day before.  These sessions bring so much more alone time, so much fun to your wedding weekend, and such a unique experience in your wedding day attire!

Ally + John’s Oahu Beach Engagement Session

For Ally + John’s engagement session we wanted to keep things simple, going to one of Ally’s favorite beaches in Oahu that she grew up going to.  Ally + John showed up ready to have so much fun throughout their session.  We planned their session during one of Oahu’s famous beach sunsets.  With the warm glow of the clouds contrasting with the blue of ocean, you really cannot beat these views. 

Ally + John started off in some casual clothes, we soaked in the sunset, and wandered around the beach for their romantic engagement session.  Between the excitement of their wedding day and their happiness to be in this special place so close to home, Ally + John just brought so much great energy to their beach engagement session.  After wandering the beach as the sun got lower, they got into their swimsuits and went out to splash around in the water.  We created some MAGIC in these photos, Ally + Johns’ epic engagement session was one for the books and I cannot wait to share more from their wedding weekend.  Head to my blog page to see more gorgeous sessions just like Ally + John’s!
