I’m honestly still in complete awe of Keely and Kamu’s wedding day at Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu! These two along with their friends and families know how to celebrate, and believe me these two have an incredible love worth celebrating! A while back I shared their engagement session, and I’m SO excited to have finally documented their wedding day to share with you all here. From the rehearsal dinner luau, to an epic night of dancing, join me as I relive one of my favorite wedding days to date!
Rehearsal Luau and Getting Ready
The festivities for Keely and Kamu’s wedding began even before their actual wedding day, as the night prior the two had a welcome luau / rehearsal dinner at their venue Turtle Bay. You might recognize Turtle Bay from my Oahu elopement guide, but this resort is just as perfect for a large wedding like Keely and Kamu’s as it is for an elopement! Turtle Bay is a venue that is spacious, flexible, and above all else stunningly beautiful. After a night of dancing under the string lights, Keely and Kamu spent the morning of their wedding day getting ready with the members of their wedding parties while in their rooms at Turtle Bay. While Keely and Kamu may not have had a first look, Keely did have one with all of her gals which was the perfect bit of hype before her and Kamu’s ceremony!
Their Ceremony on Oahu’s North Shore
We were dealing with a bit of overcast throughout the entirety of Keely and Kamu’s wedding day which thankfully gave us THE best lighting to work with throughout their day. It also fully brought out the green and white of their wedding colors, making their ceremony just that much more beautiful. The outdoor ceremony space of Turtle Bay was another huge factor in the beauty of Keely and Kamu’s wedding, with the palm trees swaying behind them as the ocean waves reached the shore nearby.
The ceremony itself was filled with some of my favorite moments from the entire wedding day. Between Keely and Kamu’s grandmothers being the ‘golden’ flower girls, Kamu’s reaction to seeing Keely for the first time, and then the stunning dip as the two exited the ceremony, it’s impossible to choose a favorite! After their ceremony we had some time for family and wedding party portraits using the same space, which meant we could enjoy the view for a bit longer. Keely and her gals really stole the show here with their parasol umbrellas, talk about a vibe! To finish off our portraits for the day were Keely and Kamu’s newlywed photos, first at their ceremony space and then finally down by the beach for a bit of time alone. Now there was just one thing left to do…
Outdoor Wedding Reception at Turtle Bay
It was time for the celebration to begin! Keely and Kamu wasted no time getting their wedding reception underway by having a seriously epic entrance with their wedding parties followed by their first dance. The string lights and chandeliers of the outdoor tent provided the perfect touch of lighting for the evening. Once the reception fully got underway there was NO stopping it. Fueled by the delicious food of Turtle Bay, their cigar bar, and the tower of champagne, the energy of Keely and Kamu’s reception was seriously unmatched. A fitting end to a day that was already filled to the brim with excitement and joy!
Keely and Kamu’s wedding at Turtle Bay on Oahu is one that I don’t think I’ll ever stop obsessing over. There is SO much that I just adore about their day, and I’m so glad they chose me to document their one of a kind celebration!
