There’s nothing quite as magical as a surprise proposal here on the islands of Hawaii. Whether it’s atop a cliff, on the beach at sunset, or looking out over the lush green mountains of the islands, there are SO many incredible settings for a proposal. Destiny and Brandon decided on one such place for their surprise proposal, Secret Island on Oahu! Let’s take a look at what made their proposal so special and why proposals on Oahu are some of the best around.

A Surprise Proposal at Oahu’s Secret Island

Destiny and Brandon’s surprise proposal started off on the dock of Secret Island on Oahu, looking out over the mountains of the island. From there we made our way out to the beach for some portraits with the ocean and the palm trees around us. Destiny and Brandon, for obvious reasons, were SO happy and excited throughout their session. You could just feel the love and adoration the two hold for one another, and how excited they were to be in this moment. It was a real treat working with these two and capturing their emotions of pure joy as they begin this new chapter of their relationship together. 

Proposals on Oahu

You may recognize Secret Island on Oahu, either from another proposal I photographed here, the wedding venue feature I wrote about the location, or maybe from the Jurassic Park series. While Secret Island and the Kualoa Ranch area are an incredible option for a proposal on Oahu, there are SO many other locations throughout the islands that are worth considering as well. Settings like the mountains of the island’s North shore, or the cliff top views of Makapuu Lookout, show only a fraction of what the island has to offer!
