Melissa and Austin celebrated their wedding earlier this year with their closest friends and family on a wedding day that can simply be described as beautiful and timeless. Their wedding took place on the island of Oahu at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. This venue is STUNNING. Overlooking the greenery and cliffs that make up the Waimānalo Forest Reserve there is just so much to take in. There was so much care put into their day and so much joy both from Melissa and Austin as well as their guests. I can’t wait to share some of the highlights with you!

Details and Getting Ready

For their wedding day, Melissa and Austin kept their decorations simple and classy, keeping with the timeless feel they were going for. When you have your wedding on the island of Oahu, or any of the Hawaiian islands really, you can always rely on the natural beauty of the island to be the perfect setting for your day! They had just a handful of flowers in their wedding colors tastefully decorating their wedding spaces which added just the right amount of personal touch to their wedding day. Melissa and Austin chose to get ready separately with their closest friends and family. They also opted not to have a first look and see each other for the first time at their ceremony. The built-up anticipation throughout the morning made for such an exciting experience.

Their Timeless Outdoor Ceremony on Oahu

When it comes to settings for wedding ceremonies Oahu is home to some of THE best in the Hawaiian islands. From beautiful beaches to majestic green mountains like Melissa and Austin had for their wedding, there’s something perfect for everyone on Oahu. For their ceremony space, Melissa and Austin’s wedding arch was looking out over beautiful green forests and the lush mountains I had mentioned earlier.

The jaw dropping setting was the cherry on top of their intimate ceremony. When entering the ceremony space at their Oahu wedding venue, they had to walk down a long staircase to get to the ceremony. When Melissa entered the space and took her time walking herself to the ceremony, you can feel all of the emotion and excitement they felt looking back at their day. As much as I love first looks there is something so exciting about waiting to see one another until the moment of your ceremony like these two did. The rest of their ceremony was just as beautiful as the start, and before long they were signing their wedding papers officially becoming newlyweds.

After their ceremony, we had a bit of time for some family and newlywed portraits before their reception began. We had the perfect amount of overcast on their wedding day giving us the best possible lighting for their portraits. That combined with the beautiful landscape of their Oahu wedding venue made for some amazing portrait opportunities. After the family portraits, Melissa Austin and I explored a bit together for some newlywed portraits before making our way to their reception. Their indoor reception was a blast as well. They had so much fun celebrating and dancing the night away with all of their friends and family!

Melissa and Austin really couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day on Oahu. Between the picture-perfect venue, the weather and lighting, and all the love from their friends and family everything just went perfectly right for them!
