Genevieve and Ben’s intimate wedding felt extra special for me to document. This is partly due to it taking place at one of my favorite intimate wedding venues, Gather on Maui, but more so because it felt as if I was reliving parts of my own wedding story! A huge part of Genevieve and Ben’s day, and their lives in general, is their two and a half year old daughter Charlie. Witnessing little Charlie having the best time alongside her parents on their wedding day gave me flashbacks to my own wedding where our then two and a half year old daughter had almost the same experience. These personal parallels made this wedding even more of a joy to document, and I’m so glad to have been a part of Genevieve and Ben’s day!

First Looks at Gather on Maui

The day began with Genevieve, Ben, and Charlie all getting ready together. These three have the cutest little family, and it was so special for Genevieve and Ben to be able to get ready with their little one. Once Ben was ready we had him sneak out so that Genevieve could get into her wedding dress without being seen before their first look. With the help of her mother, Genevieve put on her gorgeous Jenny Yoo wedding dress and we all made our way to the grounds of Gather on Maui for the first looks. 

First up was Charlie’s first look with Ben which was just THE sweetest. Genevieve was up next, and this moment was truly special. Amidst the tropical backdrop of their venue, Genevieve and Ben shared their first look, and Ben’s reaction really says it all! Genevieve and Ben decided to share their vows privately during this time, and this is when things got a bit emotional. With tears in their eyes the two made their promises to one another, and just like that it was time for their ceremony to begin.

Their Intimate Wedding Ceremony

Genevieve and Ben’s ceremony was intimate, personal, and so special. With only their closest family and friends attending as guests, and the breathtaking ocean backdrop of Gather on Maui, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for their celebration. It was clear just how much this day meant to everyone, none more so of course than Genevieve and Ben. With the love and support of their friends, family, and little Charlie, Genevieve and Ben said their I Do’s and were officially newlyweds!

Celebrating at Gather on Maui

Immediately following the ceremony was our window for portrait photos. Family portraits were first, and we were able to use the same beautiful space that their ceremony took place at. Following this was a lovely cocktail hour where Genevieve and Ben were able to spend some time chatting with their loved ones. The beautiful outdoor patio of Gather on Maui would act as their cocktail hour and reception space, and it was perfect for both.

At one point Genevieve, Ben, and I headed to the beach for some oceanside couples portraits. Almost as if on cue, the sun began to peek through the layer of cloud cover we had all day for some magical sunset photos! We then made our way back to Gather on Maui so that Genevieve and Ben could enjoy themselves and celebrate their day with those they love most. It was an unforgettable night of laughter, phenomenal food, a ton of love, and a fun dance floor that was dominated by little Charlie’s dance moves!

I’m just obsessed with Genevieve and Ben’s wedding at Gather on Maui, and their perfect little fam! Their day was honestly so incredible from start to finish, and I’m so glad I got to relive it all here with you today.
