Couples from all over the world travel to the islands of Hawaii to experience their wedding in the midst of a tropical paradise. This exact experience is what Dhesseny and Devon were able to enjoy to the fullest during their wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House on Maui! Between the palm trees swaying in the breeze, the wonderful backdrop of the ocean, and amazing sunset portraits on the beach, this day is the prime example of a wedding in Hawaii and I can’t wait for you to see the highlights!
Getting Ready for Their Wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House on Maui
The day began with both Dhesseny and Devon taking their time as they got ready separately for their wedding day. With access to the Olowalu Plantation House itself, the two were able to get ready on location, which always makes things SO much simpler. Since there was no first look prior to the ceremony, we were sure to keep Dhesseny and Devon separate so they wouldn’t accidentally cross paths prior to the big moment! Thankfully there are plenty of spaces, both indoor and outdoor, to enjoy at the Olowalu Plantation House so this wasn’t too challenging! Dhesseny did choose to have a first look with her bridesmaids however, which was SUCH a fun moment from the day. Her gals had an insane level of hype seeing Dhesseny in her dress for the first time, ensuring she felt her absolute best before walking down the aisle!
A Stunning Outdoor Ceremony
The wedding ceremony space of the Olowalu Plantation House looks and feels like something straight out of a dream. The spacious brick patio where the ceremony takes place is home to a breathtaking backdrop of the ocean. Framing the ocean is the iconic tree that the Olowalu Plantation House is known for, a main draw of this breathtaking space. As Dhesseny and Devon’s guests waited for the ceremony to begin, you could feel the anticipation rising. That anticipation would build until the Pu, or ceremonial blowing of the conch shell, signaled the beginning of the ceremony. Soon, Devon and members of the wedding parties began making their way down the aisle towards the gorgeous floral centerpiece.
Dhesseny then made her entrance, and there was a clear feeling of intense joy in the air. As she walked down the aisle Devon was absolutely giddy with excitement. It was apparent that this moment was something Dhesseny, Devon, and their loved ones had all been looking forward to for quite some time. Soon the two were officially newlyweds, and as they walked down the aisle together they were treated to a shower of flower petals. Following the ceremony we had a bit of time for some family and wedding party portraits, taking in as much beauty of the Olowalu Plantation Houses’ ceremony space as we could.
Celebrating Their Wedding at Maui’s Olowalu Plantation House
One of the best aspects of the Olowalu Plantation House is the vast lawn that’s available for you to enjoy throughout your wedding day. This meant Dhesseny, Devon, and their guests were all able to mingle in one part of the lawn while another was converted into their reception space. Having an outdoor reception like this is just another part of what makes weddings in Maui the one of a kind experience that they are. Their wedding day wouldn’t be complete without a few sunset portraits taking in the astounding ocean views at golden hour. After portraits, Dhesseny and Devon returned to their reception to celebrate with their loved ones with a night of unforgettable moments that they’ll forever love to look back on!
