What Makes Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu Special

Throughout everything that Turtle Bay Resort does, both for their wedding couples and their general guests, there is a commitment to providing THE best possible all around experience. This is reflected through the different offerings available for couples looking to have their wedding here, the amazing experiences available for anyone staying at the resort, and the next level service provided by the incredible staff on site. There’s a great bit that sets the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu apart from many of the other wedding venue options throughout the islands of Hawaii, so let’s get into the specifics of what makes it so special!

Multiple Spaces Available

The first area that Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu excels in as a wedding venue of Hawaii is that they offer an incredible variety of locations to choose from for your wedding day. The resort has a total of 8 spaces for couples to choose from, all of which you can use for your ceremony and/or reception! There are 7 outdoor locations and 1 indoor location:

  • Secret Cove: A beautiful and secluded beach and lawn area with space for up to 250 seated guests.
  • Stables Lawn: The largest location at Turtle Bay Resort, complete with beach access and a massive lawn able to fit 1,500 seated guests.
  • Bay View Beach and Lawn: Stunning beach and lawn spaces that are closer to the resort with space for 250 seated guests.
  • Kuilima Cove Lawn: Open lawn just outside of the resort, with endless ocean views and space for 200 seated guests.
  • Kahuku Terrace: Lawn space just outside of the indoor ballroom with space for 250 seated guests.
  • Kuilima Point: Large lawn space separated from the Kahuka Terrace by a pathway. Incredible ocean views and space for 600 seated guests make this a wonderful outdoor option.
  • Sunset Pavilion: Semi Indoor space that is perfect for an intimate ceremony and reception, with space for 40 seated guests.
  • Kuilima Ballroom : Indoor ballroom space with plenty of windows for natural light and ocean views. Perfect for an indoor reception for up to 600 seated guests.

Their Approach to Wedding Packages

With so many different spaces to choose from, Turtle Bay Resort has a unique approach to their wedding packages. Depending on the space(s) you book they create a package for each specific couple to best fit their vision for their wedding day. They work closely with their couples from the moment they inquire to understand the vision and what the couple wants from the day. Then from there they’ll discuss the different location options with you, and come up with a plan to bring your dream wedding day to life. It’s just one of the many areas where Turtle Bay Resort’s service level makes them a must consider when looking for wedding venues in Hawaii!

Pre Wedding Add-Ons

Turtle Bay Resort understands that your wedding day is meant to be THE best day ever, and they take that goal very seriously! One of their offerings that I love are their pre-wedding day add-on packages. Many of these are focused around their wonderful spa, including things like  massages, facials, hair and makeup trials, and more for the days leading up to your wedding. For the wedding day itself they offer an in-house hair and makeup service if you don’t want to worry about finding your own vendor, as well as a 20 minute pre-wedding consultation to ensure that their stylist knows exactly what you want for your wedding day! These services must be booked in advance of your wedding day, and easily bring your wedding experience to the next level.

The Location Itself

Turtle Bay Resort is on the very north shore of Oahu, Hawaii, a prime location for this wedding venue. Even being on the north shore of the island, the drive from the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu is only around an hour long. The north shore of the island is stunningly beautiful, and has everything you and your guests would need. This means that once you make the drive you are then set for the entirety of your trip, something we’ll cover in depth in the following sections! The north shore itself offers a wide array of beaches to enjoy, hiking trails to explore, and charming small towns for you and your guests to experience after the wedding itself. If you aren’t too busy enjoying the resort that is!

The Resort Experience

Turtle Bay Resort, much like many of the other resorts found throughout the islands of Hawaii, offers a lot for couples to enjoy outside of the fantastic wedding venue experience. Delicious food from the on site restaurants, a seemingly endless amount of activities, and rooms that are both luxurious and comfortable are just some of the things that make staying at the resort ideal for both you and the guests of your wedding. Another added bonus is the resort offers a discount for guest rooms when booking 10 or more rooms for 2 nights (except during holidays and between 12/18-1/15). For more information on what you can do while at the resort outside of your wedding celebrations, check out this article of mine that features Turtle Bay Resort!

By now it should be clear why I love Turtle Bay Resort and why it’s one of my favorite wedding venues, not just on Oahu but throughout the islands of Hawaii in general! There are of course other venues that I adore on the island, some of which I’ve covered in previous venue features like Male’ana Gardens Kailua, The Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina, and Lanikuhonua. Be sure to check some of these out as well if Turtle Bay isn’t quite your cup of tea, also if you’re ready to book me as your Hawaii wedding photographer be sure to send over an inquiry through my contact page to book your date today!
