I’m continuing on my feature series of my favorite wedding venues across the islands of Hawaii, and I have a special one for you today! This article we’re going to be going over one of my top wedding venues on the island of Oahu, Lanikuhonua which is found in Ko Olina. With everything from a beachside ceremony, wide open green spaces for your reception and cocktail hour, and plenty of locations nearby for photos and for your guests to stay, Lanikuhonua brings a TON to the table!
Why Have Your Wedding at Lanikuhonua?
Having your wedding in the Hawaiian Islands gives you a lot of options in terms of wedding venues. If you’ve been following me and my venue feature series for a bit now you’ll know what I mean. Lanikuhonua offers something special though as a wedding venue on Oahu. As a wedding venue, they offer a one of a kind experience for your tropical wedding day. The gorgeous pacific ocean views, stunning grass areas, lovely ceremony and reception spaces, and assistance from the Lanikuhonua staff really make this an experience that’s hard to pass up when choosing a wedding venue!
What Sets Lanikuhonua Apart from Other Wedding Venues?
As a wedding venue on Oahu, Lanikuhonua offers a ton in terms of options for your wedding day. With 3 different locations or “phases” available, nearly any size and style of wedding day is a perfect fit for Lanikuhonua. The mix of ocean views and the option of a beachside ceremony combine with the wide open lawn areas of the reception spaces for an incredible feel to your wedding day. The beauty of Lanikuhonua is undeniable, but outside the natural beauty, there’s not much for decoration other than the wooden arch provided for your ceremony. This is incredible for couples that are either looking to keep things simple and natural for their day or couples looking to handle most of the decorations themselves and give their space a feel totally unique to them!
How Many Guests Can Attend?
As mentioned above, the 3 different phases of Lanikuhonua give it an edge as an Oahu wedding venue. Each phase has its own beautiful lawn area, but they vary slightly in size and feel. Phase 1 is the biggest, but has a medium-sized guest limit of 700, Phase 2 is medium-sized with a large guest limit of 1000, and Phase 3 is the smallest with a guest limit of 150. If you’re really looking to have a massive celebration you are able to rent out all 3 phases at once. Whether you’re looking for a large celebration or something more intimate, Lanikuhonua will be able to fit your needs! They even offer elopement packages, so if you’re looking to have a celebration of just the two of you you can still go through Lanikuhonua.
Are There Travel and Stay Accommodations?
With Lanikuhonua being on the island of Oahu, travel to the island, and in turn the wedding venue, is incredibly simple for both you and your guests! Honolulu International Airport is the main airport of the Hawaiian Islands and is only about 20 miles away from Lanikuhonua. The venue also has 200 parking spaces available on site for guests to use the day of your wedding, though Lanikuhonua shares these spaces with other venues that are nearby. What about places to stay for you and your guests though? Being in Ko Olina means there are a TON of options for your guests to stay near Lanikuhonua. Whether that’s the Ko Olina Resort, Marriott Ko Olina, Four Seasons Ko Olina, or something from Vrbo in the area!
Other Things to Note
Lanikuhonua on Oahu offers the option to have either a sunrise or sunset ceremony at their wedding venue. They know just how beautiful both these moments are and will time your ceremony around them so you can get the absolute best and most magical lighting for your wedding day. If you’re having trouble finding or deciding on vendors they do have a list of recommendations that you can trust to give you the best experience on your day. They also offer musical services for your wedding as well as a bridal bouquet for your day. One important thing to note is there is no on-site getting-ready space at Lanikuhonua, so you’ll have to prepare for your wedding before heading to your ceremony!
Lanikuhonua has been one of my favorite wedding venues on Oahu for a while now, and after reading this I’m sure you can see why! The venue’s name means “where heaven meets the earth” and honestly it could not be more fitting.
